In this and the upcoming chapters, we will explore these three sections of the
SAT. Each of them is an expression of the Evil Testing Serpent’s new obsessions.


THE SERPENT’S NEW OBSESSIONS—


EVIDENCE AND ANALYSIS


Lest you think that the gruesome features of the EBRAW T are the result of the
Serpent’s hatred for high school students, you should know that the EBRAW T is
actually the product of LOVE. Yes, in the process of inventing the new SAT, the
Serpent fell head-over-claws in love. The Serpent’s new crush object, about
whom it talks all the time and to whom it sends gushy Sexts (Serpent texts), is
named Evidence. It isn’t clear if Evidence likes, or even notices, the Serpent, but
the Serpent just can’t stop asking questions about Evidence:


•       How does    this    piece   of  evidence    contribute  to  the overall argument?
• This evidence could be used to support which of the following claims?
• If this evidence were to change, how might the overall argument change?
• The author uses which piece of evidence to support the claim made in
paragraph three?

Even when the Serpent tries to play it cool by not saying the word evidence,
the Serpent is still secretly, obsessively talking about Evidence with words like
