DIG PREGNANCY,
BIRTH AND BABY:

By Sue ElkindReflections by Sianna Sherman

A Conscious and Empowered Approach to Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga

Sue Elkind’s first ‘birthing experience’ was as the founder of a popular yoga
studio in West Hollywood, California. She is now the co-owner of two yoga
studios, DIG YOGA, in both Philadelphia, PA and Lambertville, New Jersey.
Sue’s passion for prenatal yoga, her own birth experiences, and her
continued enthusiasm for serving other teachers is what inspired this book.
Sue is a highly respected 500-ERYT and international yoga teacher. She has
been featured in national magazines and on a cable network, while she
has also co-produced videos, and is pictured at 7 months pregnant in
the book, Contact Yoga. Sue and her husband, fellow yoga teacher, Naime
Jezzeny, conduct workshops, teacher trainings, and classes nationally and
internationally. Sue, Naime, and their two sons, Luca and Milo, live in Bucks
County, Pennsylvania.

“Whether you are new to yoga or an experienced yogini, becoming a mother is a very personal journey. Preparing for this journey with Prenatal Yoga brings an inner strength, self reliance, balance and calmness of the mind to help you get ready for whatever lies ahead. Sue Elkind’s wonderfully illustrated, comprehensive and easy to
read book shows how to gain this outer and inner strength as well as the flexibility and energy that helps the birth experience get easier, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
It also teaches you how to tune in and connect with your baby and listen to your body’s changing needs during the pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience. For Prenatal Yoga instructors this book is the instruction manual how to teach an invigorating as well as safe yoga class to all your pregnant students. I cannot
recommend it highly enough!”— Anna Verwaal, RN Maternal Child Health nurse
“I was six weeks pregnant when I stumbled into Sue’s yoga class, a hormonal, discombobulated mess. Being in her class twice a week allowed me the space to get in touch with my ever-changing body, while at the same time giving my mind a place to rest and rejuvenate. I was not someone who had a yoga practice before but
through Sue and the other mothers to be in the class, I was able to connect to the innate and nurturing side of myself that not only made me feel better, but put me in the right frame of mind for motherhood.
— “With DIG PREGNANCY, Sue Elkind shares her knowledge of alignment, energy, Jennifer Gruskoff, Editor In Chief , Goodkin Family Living, Modern Style
meditation, mantra, nourishment and more. She’s created a comprehensive guide for pregnant women at any stage, giving us ways to support ourselves both physically and emotionally with such care and love. This is sure to be a must-read for conscious pregnant mamas around the world.”
— “I feel inspired and uplifted every time I am in the presence of Sue and I am proud Elena Brower, Founder VIRAYOGA NYC and Author, Art of Attention
to call her my teacher! Her knowledge and love for prenatal yoga shines through in everything she does. This book is a thorough guide to everything you need to know when doing yoga in your pregnancy; whether you are a student, teacher or “just” a new mom to be. “
— Pernille Asam, Yoga teacher and mother
