22 years, Wayne, their children, Shanna, 19, Mitchell, 15, and Wesley,
11, and three Jack Russells. ‘We love the bush; Wayne and I met at a
game lodge where we worked for a number of years, and I even had
the privilege of rearing a cheetah and relocating her successfully back
into the wild,’ says Tandi.

my bedside table.

Your Family magazine has been part of our home since I was a little girl as
my dear late Mom loved it. In November 2013 I had a brain operation, and
when I was finally able to sit up and read again my cousin, Marion, brought
me the Your Family Christmas issue. She knew I loved the magazine, and
trying the recipes and crafts, as I love all things Christmas. When I opened
the magazine and saw all the wonderful goodies I could
hardly wait to get out of the hospital. I tried the mini
cutlery stockings on page 100 and added a ribbon and
the initial of each family member who came to Christmas
lunch that year. I also put a Lindt chocolate ball into the toe
of the stocking. I’ve unfortunately been retrenched and
I’m a single mom, so to earn some income I’ve been taking
orders to make these. Some orders have come from as far
away as Langebaan in the Cape! Thank you for inspiring
us to make our homes and lives better with every issue.

SO MUCH LOVE
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Your Family
magazine’s November 2016 issue. Raised in
love (pages 36-38) will stay with me. It was
amazing to read about the mom who gave
up her Mauritius holiday to buy her adopted
child a piano. This feature left me with a new
appreciation for the unconditional love of a
mother. I’ve come to realise that loving people
have a positive outlook on life; they’re capable
of great sacrifice and can bear life’s burdens
better. I’ve also realised that when we think
of give and take, we need to be careful not to
equate this virtue with the simple exchange of
‘If you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours’.
With so many minds running along this track,
it’s no wonder that
goodwill is in short
supply! To give
without anticipating
reward is true
giving. It was very
touching to read
the stories of these
three moms. Thank
you for bringing
us such positive
features!

A SPECIAL
RELATIONSHIP
I’m a very old member
of your wonderful family.
I’m in my late 70s and
not acquainted with
modern technology. Our
relationship goes back
as far as the 70s. I’ve
been fortunate enough
to win a few of your
competitions, and I was
over the moon when
I was selected to be on
your panel of tasters. We
are such good friends,
in good times and bad.
Your Family has always
been there to cheer
me up.
