The Problem
Depression is a state of low mood and
aversion to activity that can affect a
person’s thoughts, behaviour, feelings and
physical wellbeing. Depression can cause a
person to lose interest in activities that once
were pleasurable, experience loss of appetite
or overeating, have problems concentrating,
remembering details or making decisions,
even contemplate or attempt suicide.
Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, loss
of energy, or aches, pains or digestive
problems that are resistant to treatment
may also be present. They may also feel sad,
anxious, empty, hopeless, helpless, worthless,
guilty, irritable, or restless.
The Solution
It can sometimes be difficult to catch
yourself before reaching ‘depression’, but it
will certainly help you to bring some yoga
into your life daily and you will most likely
see a positive shift in your mood. With these
simple yoga techniques, you can lift your
spirits and your mood whenever you feel
the need to.
