How do you prepare to walk from one end of the country to the other? Yoga, of course

here’s only one way to prepare for the long walk from
John O’Groats to Lands End - that’s yoga, of course!
That was certainly Kevin Pritchard’s training before he
started the long-distance marathon walk recently.
Pritchard has just started the journey from John
O’Groats to Lands End, to raise money for a local charity. He hopes
to complete the 1,100 miles trek in around two months.
Before he left, he attended his local yoga studio to pick up a few
exercises to ease those aching feet and leg muscles along the way.
His yoga instructor, Denise, gave him a few key exercises to perform
each morning, midday and evening to keep him fresh and ready to
go again the next day.

And it goes without saying that all of the folks back home and
from his local area of Bakewell are very proud of him. Pritchard is
fund raising for the charity Helen’s Trust (helenstrust.org.uk), which is
based in Bakewell. The charity gives people with terminal illness the
choice to be at home in the final stages of their illness.
And, during those long days on the road, yoga – with a bit
of mindfulness and meditation thrown in – makes for an ideal
companion. Go, Kevin, go!
