Summertime means festival time, but putting together a big yoga event is no mean


feat. Here, Ella Wroath, one of the creators of the popular Soul Circus gathering in


the Cotswolds, explains how it’s done


S


oul Circus is a yoga and wellness festival set in the heart
of the Cotswolds in gorgeous Gloucestershire, that takes
place in August this year. Offering a range of yoga and
workshops, good healthy food and entertainment, it’s set
to draw a big crowd of likeminded yogis and yoginis looking
for fun to go with their spiritual enlightenment and stretching. OM
caught up with one of its creators, Ella Wroath, to find out the story
behind it all.

How did you get started in yoga
I trained as a dancer until I was 21 but then injury and a
disillusionment in the dance and performing world lead me to
something more healing, gentle and mindful. I met an amazing group

of women at university who helped me see the world from a more
yogic point of view; they became my best friends and remain so to
this day. All of them are teaching and helping at Soul Circus which
fills me with immense joy.

What about your journey since then
I went through a painful break up when I was 30 that lead me to
Morocco where I managed a yoga and surf camp. It was there I
had the head space to hatch a plan with my sister Fleur to open
our own studio. We were very lucky that Cheltenham (where my
sister currently lived) had no hot yoga studio. So, I returned from
soul seeking in Morocco, I owned no real shoes, and barely any
possessions, and moved in with Fleur. From there I went through
