not sure how to explain this, but I now realise that yoga is something
that was within me before I became someone that practices yoga.
For example, our products totally follow the concept of Ahimsa
(non-violence) because they are vegan and cruelty free, free
from harmful chemicals and eco-friendly. They follow Aparigraha
(simplicity) because they’re 100% naturally derived and handmade
with organic ingredients. Also we donate 20% of profits to charity
because we truly believe that all life is interrelated and dependent
on each other and that business should always serve the communal
good rather than personal profit.
This summer was crazy for PHB. In June we moved into a new
warehousing facility and welcomed some new team members. We’ve
been enjoying the success of our makeup range which was our
most recent launch. It’s been getting incredible reviews from beauty
influencers and customers and we’ve won a handful of prestigious
awards for products such as our All in One Natural Mascara,
Botanical BB Cream and 100% Pure Organic Lip Glaze.
I’m currently focused on re-designing the packaging for our
skincare ranges which we’re moving into glass. We’re also creating a
new everyday skin care line which will retail between £7-£10, making
our ethical and organic goods accessible to more people.
Going forward
I feel so lucky that every day there are moments to be celebrated
and enjoyed, as so often can be the case when you’re doing
something that you love - that’s why I always tell people follow your
passions and do something your heart aligns with.
For me, a personal high was going to the official opening for
our first franchise store in the Netherlands. The entrepreneur we
work with is a bit of a maverick – he arranged a store opening with
Dutch celebrities and athletes, and a street party that got about
200 people looking on. We only found out it was happening three
days before. I was 23 at the time (the world’s youngest owner of a
franchise brand!) and the whole experience totally blew my mind.
I want to play skilfully and create an environment for PHB to
continue to grow, so that our family business can make a difference
in people’s lives through providing amazing products that reconnect
us with the powers of nature. We also want to inspire with our
business ethics and passion to support great causes that help
people and animals.
And I have quite similar goals on a personal level too. I want to
continue to enjoy my life, take care of myself, learn new things,
travel and connect with people and animals along the way.
At PHB we give 20% of our profits to charity - the OneLove
Foundation (onelovefoundation.co.uk). It’s a project of passion and
one that I am personally driven by. Providing a helping hand to those
that need it is not only essential but rewarding to our whole team.
It is the yoga principles of love and compassion that I am reminded
by when I think of the work the OneLove Foundation does and so I
would like to see the charity blossom further and help even more of
those that need it.
