- Child’s Pose
Starting in Child’s Pose, sit back onto your heels. Knees can be
together or apart. Extend the arms out in front of you and as you
exhale, soften and fold and let the forehead come towards the ground.
Take a few moments here to settle the breath and notice how you are
feeling today.
- Puppy Pose
Take the hands out in front of you, keep the hips above the knees. As
you exhale, bring the chest towards the floor. Beginners may bring the
forehead to the floor. Eventually the chest and even the chin will also
lower. Enjoy the opening in your chest.
- Cat & Cow Pose
Come up onto all fours and as you inhale, lift your tail bone, let the
belly sink towards the ground while you let your chest and chin come
forwards. Exhale to round your tail bone, draw your belly in and dome
your spine upwards. Look towards your navel. Weave between Cat and
Cow for 3 – 5 breaths. - Downward Dog with Pedals
Come back to all fours and lift the hips into your Downward Dog. Bend
knees alternately to loosen the spine and shoulders.
Here, you will find poses to lift your mood including some back bending, some shoulder opening
and some balance poses – because it’s really great to focus on opening through the chest and
upper part of the body to open your heart into happiness.
