Bio: Kathy Escobar, M.A., co-pastors The Refuge, an eclectic faith com-
munity in north Denver dedicated to those on the margins of life and faith.
She blogs on faith, life, and church at http://www.kathyescobar.com and is a
founder and cultivator of Voca Femina, a creative arts site for women.
Deeply dedicated to helping individuals and groups explore a raw,
authentic faith journey, she has coauthored two books on spiritual direction:
Come with Me: An Invitation to Break Through the Walls between You and God
(Discovery House, 2002), and Refresh: Sharing Stories, Sharing Faith (New Hope
Publishers, 2007). She lives in Arvada, Colorado, with her husband and fi ve
