Real- time connection is always a wonderful option,
but it’s not always practical in our busy society.
Combining a monthly Skype chat with daily online con-
nection can be a great way to build group unity. There’s
something special about face- to- face communication
(albeit on screens). - Facebook, Instagram, social media
Some Hello Mornings groups use a special hashtag on
Instagram or Twitter. Others have a dedicated Facebook
group where they discuss Scripture and encourage one
another. Now with Facebook offering live videos within
groups, and Instagram embracing live video and stories
as well, we have more ways to use these tools to connect
and encourage one another. - E- mail and texting
E- mail and texting are simple, straightforward ways
to connect with your group. But if your group is large or
very interactive, you might consider using a group texting
app or using your e- mail providers’ filter options to help
manage all the messages coming in. (Gmail, for example,
allows you to filter e- mails to certain folders to keep your
inbox clean.) Since these are frequently used forms of
communication, it’s easy for group members to feel over-
whelmed if they don’t have a method for managing the
messages.
But What If I’m Not the Leader Type?
Yes, there are many ways to be a participant. But what
about a leader? You may be thinking, Don’t I have to be a
