she started leading other women, God took her deeper than
ever before.
Christi said, “I became co- leader last study. It has been one
of the best things I have done.”
There is power in walking in our weakness and letting
God lead. No doubt, leading is stretching, but without stretch-
ing we don’t grow.
Michi Bird is no stranger to stretching herself. This mom
of three went back to college a few years ago and is on track to
earn her second bachelor’s degree the same year her oldest son
graduates with his degree. She said:
As a leader for one of the HM groups, I find myself being
stretched not just by God, but by these beautiful sisters He
has placed in my life. God may speak one thing to me as
I read over the verses for the day and contemplate them,
but He speaks something different to everyone in my group.
When these ladies post how God spoke to them, it opens my
eyes to how one verse can be interpreted and applied in so
many different ways. God uses these women to help mold
me into what He knows I can be and they stretch me more
than I could ever do on my own.
What Should Your Group Look Like?
If God is calling you to lead a group, consider who you should
invite to join you. Consider these qualifiers, and invite the fol-
lowing kinds of people.
- Anyone you believe can benefit. We want everyone in
the group to grow.
