yourself. You notice the thoughts arise and
rather than hold onto them, you mentally
say to yourself ‘thank you for revealing
these thoughts that hold me back from my
true powerful nature, but now I am going to
release those negative thoughts into the fire
so that they can be turned into positive ones
that honour my higher self and those around
me’. You stay like this for a while, letting
the thoughts go, and allow more positive
thoughts to come to you instead. Stay as
long as you need, and when you are ready,
slowly stand up from the chair and walk your
way out of the cottage and back along the
path. As you walk, you feel lighter and more
positive with each step you take. Then, when
you are ready, allow the visualisation to fade
slowly away. Open your eyes, blink a few
times, take some deep breaths, and you are
ready for the rest of your day.

AFFIRMATIONS:
I will be powerful,
I will be myself,
I act powerfully in service to others,
I will achieve my goals in life,
I act with total courage.

SEED SOUND AND MUDRA:
Chanting seed sounds requires you to
‘sound’ the word inside your body and
aim the sound at the chakra or part of
the body associated with the sound. Seed
sounds stimulate and shake up the energy
of the chakra to open and balance them.
Mudras using hand gestures are also said to
stimulate the energy of the chakra. You can
chant these in the postures whist visualising
the colour associated with it, or as a
meditation with the mudra.

  • this chakra leads us into the heart chakra
which then is about more spiritual matters.
The solar plexus chakra teaches you to use
your willpower and the fire within you. Here
you learn to embrace the ‘darkness’ within
you (anger, dislike, envy) and turn that into
more positive energy. The negative energies
    and aggressive/anger tendencies within
this centre/you is to be transformed into
positive initiatives here. Once we embrace
the darkness and the duality within us, then
we can move on to more spiritual matters of
    the heart.

CHAKRA BALANCING MEDITATION:
Fire Meditation:
Close your eyes in a seated meditative
pose and simply focus your awareness on
your breath. After a while, allow your mind
to visualise that you are near some woods.
There are some tall trees and they blow
gently in the breeze. Within these trees you
see a woodland path, and it looks inviting,
so you walk towards it. As you make your
way along the path, you notice it leads
to a small cottage, and you walk towards
it. As you do, you feel the protection of
woodland life around you, in the trees that
seem to whisper and wave to you, and in the
birds and creatures going about their own
business – stopping momentarily to look at
you, as you look at them. Notice everything
around you, and notice how safe and secure
you feel. Now, you see you are close to the
cottage and that it has a small wooden door
that is slightly open. You sense that you
are to go into this cottage, and through the
door, so you do so without any fear. Inside,
you see an open fire with the fire being lit;
the flames are high, warm and welcoming.
There is a very comfy armchair near the fire
and as you look at it you realise how tired
you are and so you go and sit to rest for a
while. You sit here and simply gaze at the
open fire and watch as the flames crackle
and burn. As you watch, in this relaxed state,
your thoughts wander and you gain a sense
of your lower ego. In this moment, your
truths are revealed to you — of the times
you can criticise yourself and also others,
the fears you have in just being yourself,
the self-doubt in your abilities, and how
you possibly hold too rigid expectations of

Mudra: Place the tips of your fingers
together and cross the thumbs on top. Point
your fingers away from yourself and hold the
hands at the solar plexus area on your body.

CRYSTALS TO BALANCE & STIMULATE:
Crystals have ancient healing energy and
power for the chakras. To use them with your
chakras all you need to do is carry them on
your person in some way. Also, by relaxing
with the crystal placed on or near the chakra
location is very balancing.
Crystals/Stones: Yellow Citrine, Agate,
Light Amber.

AROMATHERAPY/ESSENTIAL OILS TO
BALANCE & STMULATE:
Essential oils can be used by adding to
a little milk (so that the oil mixes in) and
adding to our bath water, in oil burners,
on your pillow for bedtime, on a hanky
to carry with you, or even in foods/water
(under expert guidance only). Sense of smell
is the first sense we are born with which
make it one of the most powerful senses
to use in healing.
Essential Oils: Chamomile, Peppermint,
Yarrow, Lemon Juniper and Marjoram.

Work with these yoga postures, techniques
and with the additional supports over the
next month and many insights into your own
solar chakra energy and the lessons you are
to learn there will be revealed.
