THE ESSENTIAL YOGA POSES


  1. Stand at the front of your
    mat, your big toes touching
    and your heels slightly
    apart. Spread the weight
    evenly through all four
    corners of your feet.

  2. Stand up tall. Spin your
    inner thighs toward the
    back wall. Engage your
    belly and draw your navel
    in. Relax your shoulders.

  3. Let your arms relax along-
    side you. Your palms should
    face toward your body.

COUNTERPOSES: Down
Dog, Forward Fold
PRECAUTIONS: None

focus inward on an intention
for your practice. This can be
one word or a simple mantra.
