I pray for the church and mission of Jesus Christ in all places......
Lord, give courage to your people and especially to the ministers
of our churches and to Christian communities of any kind. Even
where we are not yet one, may we be united in the knowledge that
we need a new awakening, a return to the gospel – joyfully bearing
for one another whatever still hinders and disturbs us. I pray for the
Holy Spirit, without whose work and help none of this can happen.

I pray for all in authority and for the needs of the world......
Have mercy on all humanity, many tormented and threatened,
plagued by so much irrationality. Illumine the thoughts of those who
have power in this community and nation and those who seemingly
do not know today where to turn or what to do. Amen.^358

Conclusion
So I offer my thanks and requests to you in the name of our Lord
Jesus, by whom you have made it possible for me to stand on the
earth to see heaven open and to look forward joyfully to the day when
he will come in great glory to make all things new. Amen.^359
