NECK EDGING
Change to 4.5mm circular needles.
Next round: K2, P2; rep from to beg of
steek, cast off 8 sts for steek.
60 ( 64 :68: 72 :76) sts.
Turn and cont working in rows.
Next row (WS): K2, P2; rep from to end of
row.
Rep last row until neck edging meas 4cm.
Cast off in rib.

TO MAKE UP
Join sleeve and body sts at underarm using
Kitchener stitch or three-needle cast-off.

Using a 4.5mm crochet hook and yarn A,
work a crochet chain vertically up each
edge of the steek stitches, working the
chain into half the edge st and half the
s te e k s t at e a c h e d ge (w it h R S of t h e work
facing you). Using sharp scissors, cut
through the centre of the steek from
bottom to top. The fabric will automatically
fold to the inside.

Note: Instead of the crochet method, you
can use a sewing machine to secure the
steek by working a line of straight stitch
between the crochet edging and the cut
edge.

BUTTON BAND
Using 4.5mm circular needles and yarn A,
and with RS facing, pick up and knit
122 ( 126 :134: 138 :138) sts down left front
edge.
Row 1 (WS): P2, K2, P2; rep from to end.
Row 2: K2, P2, K2; rep from to end.
Work another 6 rows in rib as set.
Cast off in rib.

BUTTONHOLE BAND
Using 4.5mm circular needles and yarn A,
and with RS facing, pick up and knit
122 ( 126 :134: 138 :138) sts up right front edge.
Row 1 (WS): P2, K2, P2; rep from to end.
Row 2: K2, P2, K2; rep from to end.
Next row (buttonhole): Rib 2 ( 2 :4: 4 :2),
[yo, rib 2tog, rib 11 ( 12 :12: 13 :13)] 5 times, yo,
rib2tog, rib to end.

Work another 3 rows in rib as set.
Cast off in rib.

FINISHING
Block garment gently to measurements,
following any yarn care instructions on
the ball band.
