This little spider is commonly
known as the ‘alien butt spider’,
thanks to the ‘eyes’ on its abdomen.
The markings deter predators,
by making the spider look like
a much larger animal. The colourful
arachnids are widespread across
the east coast of Australia, living
in a variety of different habitats.
