Modi cations and Other Options
- If you have lower-back pain, tight hips, or sciatica, sit on a block
or a folded blanket in order to raise the hips higher than the
knees for support. - Fold the torso over and down for a stretch into the hips (1). This
is a modi cation for re log pose (page 126). - While maintaining easy seated pose, you can stretch the upper-
body tissues using the lateral neck stretch (page 154), forward
neck stretch (page 153), cow face arms (page 156), reverse
prayer (page 157), and eagle arms (page 160).
