Machine Blanket Stitch

4 Note: Refer to Assembly Diagram for
this step, watching block placement.
Sew block Y’s to both sides of block Z
as shown. Join 5 section 1’s and 3
section 2’s with 1 H, 2 J’s, and 2 I’s as
shown to make pieced border. Make 2
and join to both sides.

5 Refer to Fusible Appliqué in Quilt
Basics. Arrange patches K–N on
block Y’s as shown in Appliqué Place-
ment Diagram. Use matching thread
and a machine blanket stitch to sew
around the patches.

6 Layer, baste, and quilt. Deanne ma-
chine quilted a meander interspersed
with stars across the surface. Bind the
table runner.
