BarracudaCast

I

will say it is hard to get
excited aboy lot of wheels
for the Messerschmitt
Bf-109, that was until I
compared this resin examples
from Barracusdacast to rthe
example in the Tamiya and
Eduard kits in my stash.
The resin has better detail
than the plastic parts and
by giving you the choice of
either a plan or ribbed hub or
smooth or ribbed tyres and
preparation is simple all you
need to do is carefully paint
the hubs black then shades of
dark grey/black for the tires.

Deluxe Materials

N

ow I have to say that
myself ad a few other
modellers in the UK
have had some input intro
Deluxe Models latest product
“Looks like Glass”. This water
based product is an easy to
use water based luid that can
produce a super gloss inish
to clear plastic parts. But it
also has a number of other
uses I have used it to bond
the separate armoured glass
and windscreen together in
the recent 1/48 scale Tamiya
Spitire (Incorrectly captioned
last month as 1/72 scale) as well
as irmly attaching the two
parts of a pre-painted etched
brass Eduard instrument panel
while at the same time also
producing the dial glass.
I also used it to restore
an Eduard Fw-190 canopy
that I had deliberately
scufed with 1200 grit wet
and dry paper by using the
Micromesh system of sanding
clothes before inishing
with “Looks like Glass” to
produce a perfect inish that

was actually looked better
than an untreated example.

DELUXE MATERIALS LOOKS LIKE
GLASS 150ML

CONCLUSION
I like this product a lot and I
am pleased that it has been
produced in a small wide mouth
jar that makes dipping canopies
up to 1/32 scale single engine
ighter size without the need
for decanting into another
container. And the manufacturer
already has a number of other
uses suggested from attaching
grass scatter material to
making puddles on your next
display base or diorama and
I am sure many other uses
will be found in due course.
Deluxe materials Looks like
Glass will be available from
all Deluxe Materials stockist
by the time you read this and
you can see the full range at
http://www.deluxematerials.com
and we thank them for
supplying the review sample.
