We’ve been trying to
help David get this
update installed for
months – there sadly comes a point
when the best course of action is to
bite the bullet and reinstall

Windows from scratch, particularly

if you’ve not done so for several

years. Our Basics guides – starting

on page 70 – will help you ensure

no files or settings are left behind

• if nothing else, take a fail-safe
  image of your PC’s drive with
  Macrium Reflect Free (www.
  macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx)
  before you begin.
  David’s decided to stick with the
  1803 update for the time being – if
  he’s unable to update Windows 10
  before support for 1803 expires
  he’ll consider buying a new PC.
