DAM Levine has had a difficult

couple of years, and his wife,

Behati Prinsloo, is feeling it.

The Maroon 5 frontman and The

Voice coach has become a “total

nightmare” to live with, a source

tells Star, because of his roller-

coaster moods. The model is reportedly desperate

for a fresh start for her and Adam and their two

young daughters, Dusty Rose, almost 3, and Gio

Grace, 18 months.

MOVING OUT

In May the couple decided to sell their

10,000-square-foot Beverly Hills mansion — after

inhabiting and renovating the palace for just a year

— to Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi for

$45 million. “The sale doesn’t bode well for Adam

and Behati,” the source says. “They only lived in

the place for a year, so it must’ve been bad for it

to seem so tarnished.” Seeking a change driven

by Adam, the couple are said to be moving into

the former home of Jennifer Garner and Ben

Affleck in Pacific Palisades.

SERIES OF SETBACKS

Adam’s dark moods started back in 2017, when

his beloved manager, Jordan Feldstein, brother

of Jonah Hill, died unexpectedly of a blood clot

in his leg. “They were like brothers, and Adam

has mourned him as if he were family,” a source

says. “Behati tried her best to help him through

his grief, but the whole thing was an awful shock

to his system.” Things went from bad to worse

for Adam after his much-slammed Super Bowl

halftime show this year. “He’s a very proud

guy, so when he was roasted for the Super Bowl

appearance, he took it to heart,” the insider says.

Then in May, after difficult negotiations, Adam

announced he’d be exiting The Voice, the hit show

he helped launch 16 seasons ago. The consecutive

lows of late have been “hugely stressful,” and the

tension on their marriage is palpable.

A NEW START?

Between moving his family to a new

neighborhood in L.A. and departing The Voice,

Adam’s determined to reinvent himself, sources

say. But where does that leave Behati? While she’s

been endlessly supportive and is trying to remain

patient, friends say, she’s feeling neglected and

discontent. “She’s suffered almost as much as he

has from the latest lows in his life. She hoped that

when he came out of it, he’d focus more attention

on her, but so far, no dice.”

Sources worry that the distance created could

spell disaster for the couple. “It feels like a lot is

changing between them, and they’re headed on

different paths,” says one. “But everyone’s hoping

they can ride out this bad patch — and soon.” ★
