COHESIVE COLORS

Remember to keep the color palette cohesive. Choose two to three

colors to guide you as you decide on decorations. For her table,

Courtney chose yellows, peaches and complementary whites. “To

keep colors pastel, opt for soft-toned florals such as peaches and

baby pinks,” she says. If you want to pick cooler shades, go with

violet florals or robin-eggshell blooms. “Blue and white is another

favorite combination that’s always beautiful,” Courtney says.

FLOWER FOCUS

Center your tablescape around the flowers. Courtney likes to use

a variety of flowers to add interest to the space. Here she used

ranunculus, tulips, David Austen roses, Solomon’s Seal, floral branch

stems and berries. Don’t be afraid to mix a range of plants.

KEEP IT SIMPLE
The best part about using florals is that your other decorations
don’t have to change depending on the occasion. “If you have
beautiful floral centerpieces and place settings, you’ll only need a
few touches to personalize the event for the occasion,” Courtney
says. If you’re preparing for a summer bridal shower, Courtney
suggests framing baby pictures of the bride-to-be and her guests
at each place setting. “Framed prints are one of my favorite
ways to personalize a tablescape,” she says. “They also make for a
darling party favor.” Don’t forget dainty flowers to complement
the settings, or go big with a floral-topped cake on the sideboard.
Spring might have already sprung, but summer has its blooms too.
