American Farmhouse Style – August 2019

Artist Lindsay Klix had no intention of turning
her passion for pottery into a full-time
career when she attended her fi rst class at a
community college in 1998. But that’s exactly
what she has accomplished with her shop, Off
Your Rocker Pottery.
Lindsay’s designs are a marriage of her love
for smooth, clean lines and the organic fl ow
of nature. She crafts each piece of dinnerware
to perfection. “I don’t need more things in my
life. I found that I need better things,” she says.
“I look at the form because that’s the fi rst sense
that you take in, but I also try to dive deeper
into how it makes you feel.” When working in
her studio, Lindsay considers every practical
detail too. Her pieces are dishwasher, oven and
microwave safe.
What sets this shop apart is the personal
touch Lindsay adds to her work. Her pieces often
have handwritten messages on the bottom.
“It’s the little things,” she says. “You read it and
you get that little bit of inspiration or happiness
and know it’s going to be okay.” Clay has always
been a medium of comfort for Lindsay, and she’s
hoping to provide that same healing for those
who enjoy her work.
