One project they undertook specifically focused on
function was to convert a messy coat closet into a small
mudroom. They began by clearing out the closet and
removing the door. This opened up the space and allowed
for more room for storage. The addition of a bench, hooks
and baskets brings together elements of traditional
farmhouse style with helpful organization.
“We’ve put a lot of thought into each room and how to
make it function the best for our family,” Alicia says. “You have
to really think about how each room functions for you and
