‘AtthispointinmylifeI wouldoften
imaginehowI mightusetheseideasinmy
ownhomeoneday,’shesays.Soalongwith
thisbackcatalogueofdreamyplacesinher
head,aswellasa growingattachmentto
InstagramandPinterest,Kalwassoon
brimmingwithideasforhowtheirhome
couldlook.‘Attheplanningstages,our
prioritiesweretocreatespaceswe’dwantto
spendtimein,’saysKal‘Wewanteda large
open-planareaforentertaining,another
spaceforworkingfromhomeandalsoa
guestbedroomandbiggerbathroom.’

MassimofromItaly– theywantedto
createa homewherefamilyandfriends
couldgatherandstayover.Workingwith
a paletteofsoothinggreys,browns,warm
pinksandmonochromes,KalandMassimo
bothagreethattheideasforeachroomin
thehousecametogetherorganically.
Theprojectwascompletedwithinsix
months,andthecouplesaythatwhilethere
werechallengesattimes,havinga home
thatnowenhancestheirlivesasit does,
makesthewaitallthemoreworthwhile.
‘Designingyourhomeis a bitlikedesigning
yourlife,’saysKal‘Thefirstobviousstep
is knowingwhatyouwant.Afterthat,you
just have to work out how to get there.’
