Choose your photos
Before you create a new project,
select the photos, or photo album, you
want to use. Then go to File > Create >
Book > Motif to open your new project.
Choose the kind of book you want from
the list by ticking it and clicking Create.

2

Theme it up
Give your project a suitable theme –
just click on one to get an idea of what
the pages will look like underneath. Don’t
worry too much about getting this stage
perfect as you can change the theme at
any time during the process.

3

To autoflow or not?
Select the Autoflow Book option if
you want Motif to do all the hard work for
you, selecting and placing images as it
sees fit. Or, click Don’t Autoflow and you
can manually add as many images and
pages as you want.

4

Choose book length
If you go down the autoflow route,
Motif will give you a recommended book
length according to your images. You
can adjust this to suit your preferences
by changing the page count or images
used; the price will automatically adjust.

5

Add images
Not using autoflow means you can
add images yourself – just drag one from
the image library to an empty image box.
Click on it to adjust it; if you want to alter
its size, hover the pointer over an edge
and click and drag to adjust it.

6

Text customisation
Where text boxes are situated, you
can click on them to edit the text inside.
Or, if you want to place one elsewhere,
click the text icon underneath a page
and a box will appear. You can move this
where you want – even over an image.

7

Adjust page layout
To further personalise your book,
edit the page layout. Click on the image
icon under a page and select the number
of images used and choose which layout
you like. You can also adjust the
background pattern and page colour.

8

Get an overview
To get an overall idea of how your
book is looking, click the Project View
icon (top right). You can drag and drop
the thumbnail spreads (a blue line means
the page can be put in the current place),
and you can remove or duplicate spreads.

9

Last-minute changes?
If, at any point, you change your
mind about your book, you can easily
make major changes by clicking on the
gear icon to reflow images or switch
format or theme. All done? Click the
Checkout button to buy your book.
