Held Together
After becoming a sole parent of
two earlier this year, when his
wife died from the Ebola virus,
34-year-old Richard holds a
mosquito net in his bedroom
on September 17. The single
father is himself one of nearly
1,000 Ebola survivors since an
outbreak began in the country
in August last year. More than
2,000 people have since died.

(or glass carriage this year) to deliver a speech
to the government. In preparation, members

Hot in Here
Protesters take to the streets in the UK on
September 20 as part of Global Climate
Strikes, which were largely inspired by
16-year-old Swedish activist Greta Thunberg.
Organizers say 4 million people on every
continentŜincluding scientists in AntarcticaŜ
took part. Independent researchers who
documented the 2017 Women’s March
are working to create their own estimates
of how many people took action against
climate change policies around the world.
