COMPLETE your stitching,


then neaten the edges of your


fabric with scissors, leaving


USE glue or double-sided


tape to attach the sampler to a


wooden lolly stick. Sew three


small gold bells onto the aida


below the sampler. Then,


using some of your leftover


stranded cotton, make a


plaited cord and tie to the


wooden hanger on both sides.


The fi nished size of your


mini-sampler will be 19x7cm


(7½x2¾in), and the stitch


count 103x39 stitches.


USE two strands for the cross


stitch, two for the backstitch,


and one for the French knots.
