MORE STITCHES
T
he following rows of triple treble are
worked in the same way as the
foundation row, except you won’t
now be working each stitch into each chain
- instead, you’ll be working each stitch into
the top of the stitch on the previous row (see
below for more).
This is just as easy as working stitches
into chains – the only extra technique you’ll
need to know is turning chains (see below
right for more).
In triple treble rows, you need to count
the turning chain (t-ch) as a stitch at the
start of the row, then at the end of the row
work a triple treble stitch into the top of the
turning chain of the previous row. Have a
practice and you’ll soon get the hang of it.
The more rows you work, the larger your
piece of triple treble fabric. At the end of
each row, count your stitches (this is the
‘stitch count’) to check you haven’t made
too many or missed any. It won’t take you
long and could save you having to undo your
work later!

RIGHT-HAND
3
To finish the row of triple treble stitches,
work the final ttr stitch into the top chain of
the turning chain on the previous row.
4
Your second row of triple trebles will be
finished. Repeat Steps 1-3 until you have the
number of rows you need.
1
Work five chains for the t-ch (see below
right), which counts as the first stitch of the
new row. Work yrh three times and insert hook
under the v-shaped top of the second stitch
from the previous row.
2
Finish the triple treble stitch as before: yrh,
pull yarn through, (yrh, pull yarn through 2
loops) 4 times. Work a ttr into the top of each
stitch of the previous row.
If you’re right-handed, follow these steps for perfect rows of triple treble...
