Stitching close-up
To prove that not all cats and dogs
fight like, well, cats and dogs, Durene
has shown one cuddly pair under the
mistletoe – although they look pretty
surprised to find themselves there! A
simple colour palette shows the dog
in white and cream and the cat in tan
with the brighter colours in the design
limited to the mistletoe, bow and stars
details, to great effect.
How to wash your stitching
It’s always a good idea to wash your finished piece before framing it.
Immerse the completed stitching in a bowl of warm water with a little
detergent and swill it around. Rinse in cold water – but don’t wring it
out. Iron your damp stitching by placing it face down on a fluffy towel,
making sure to push the point of the iron into the back of the stitches
to make them stand out at the front.
