WinOps lets you apply a number of
operations to open windows. You can set the
current window to always be on top, and
snap windows to the left, right, top, bottom
or full screen. Snapping is built directly into
Windows but it can be a little fiddly, and
WinOps simplifies the process. The program
lets you quickly resize a window using
various presets, move the window to a
different area of the screen, change its
transparency, take a screenshot and activate
Ghost mode (in which you can still see the
window, but not interact with it). Once
you’ve installed WinOps, press Ctrl+Win+Z
to open the menu.There are lots of excellent free image
editors, such as GIMP and Paint.net,
and Windows even comes with its own
simple tool – Paint. A portable alternative
to Microsoft’s application, zzPaint offers
a number of drawing tools including a
brush (with a choice of styles), colour
picker, line and shape, flood fill and text.
It can also transform your images,
flipping them horizontally or vertically,
inverting RGB, switching from RGB to
BGR, adding an alpha channel and more.
Multiple images can be arranged in a
cascade or tiled. The software is fairly
basic, which makes it very easy to use.
WuMgr (Update Manager for Windows) gives
you complete control over all your updates
in Windows 10. The program displays all
pending, successful and failed updates,
and lets you switch between viewing
Windows Updates, Installed Updates and
Hidden Updates. Click the Refresh button
to populate the listings. You can download
any update, install it or hide it, and also
disable automatic or Microsoft store updates.
This first new version of WuMgr for 2019
sees the software hit the 1.0 milestone, and
includes improvements to the automatic
update check and support for additional
languages.
