WHY THIS SHOT WORKS
The Small Beach, Isle of Harris
Composition: There is a strong
set of leading lines, taking the
viewer from the front to the
back of the image.
Mood: There is a balance of
blue hues throughout the image,
from the colour of the sea to
the colour of the sky.
Movement: This is a really long
exposure, clocking in at around
six minutes, so the sense of
movement in the sea and
over the rocks is profound.
Background: Not only is
there a strong foreground,
but the entire image is framed
by the mountainscape in the
background for added interest.
