Try a trendline
Open the Charting Basics document
and tap the Data Comparison sheet tab.
Tap to select the Column Chart at bottom
left and tap Copy. Make a new sheet by
tapping the plus sign at the top left, then
New Sheet.2
Add trendlines
Tap Table at bottom right, then the
bin. Tap the blank sheet and Paste. Drag
a corner to size up the chart. Tap the
Format paintbrush at top right, tap Chart,
then Trendlines. Trendlines clarify
patterns in data.3
Choose a trendline type
Pick Linear, then tap Trendline at the
top left of the popup for options. Turn on
‘R^2 Value’ and this appears on the chart
(for each series). A value near 1 means
the line is a good fit. Tap Type to try
other options.4

Adjust chart style
Tap Chart at the top left of the
popup and switch to Style. Under
General, you can adjust the gaps
betweencolumnsandbetweensets.This
canmakechartsmuchclearer.Youcan
alsoroundoffthecorners.6
Make a link
Having moved a chart to a separate
sheet like this, you might want a quick
way to jump back to the original sheet.
You’llneedatextboxorcell;we’lltap
theplus sign at top right and add a table
(any will do).7
Formatthelink
Inanycell,typesometext,double
ortriple-tap to highlight it and tap Link.
Choose Link To, tap Sheet and pick a
sheet. Tapping the link will go there. You
can also link to a web page or make a link
that creates an email.8
Create fancy text
Artistic text styling isn’t the most
essential spreadsheet feature, but fun.
You can apply it to text in a cell or a text
box. To add a text box, tap the plus sign
at top right, then the Shapes tab, Basic,
then Text.9
Apply text styling
Enter some text. Tap the Format
paintbrush, then Text, and set the font
and size. Then tap Text Colour and
choose a Gradient or tap Image and pick
a photo. Back in Text, tap the three dots
