HOW TO Clean up your photo library

1

Start searching
Tap OK to allow the Gemini app to scan your
photo library. It will start locating similar shots,
duplicates, video clips, screenshots and blurred
photos. You can review existing results while it
looks for more files.

2

Choose a category
Tap on the Similar section. You can then
view collections of similar files by Date or
Event. Here we’ve tapped on the Event button
to view photos taken at a particular time and
place, such as a day trip to London.

3

Remove similar files
Scroll down to view groups of similar
shots. Gemini suggests the best version and
marks the inferior shots with red ticks. Swipe
to review the rejected shots and untick them if
necessary. Tap Empty Trash when you’re ready.

4

Delete blurred shots
Tap Your Library to return to the home
screen. More files will have been located for
you to review. Tap on Blurred. Scroll through
the out of focus shots to review them. Untick
any you need to keep then Tap Delete All.

5

Wheat from chaff
Swipe back to Your Library and tap on
Others. Here you can search through the rest
of your Library. Swipe upwards to keep a shot.
Swipe down to mark one for deletion. Tap
Empty Trash to delete the unwanted shots.

6

Remove large videos
In the Your Library page tap on Videos.
This displays the largest clips at the top. Tap to
view a clip. Swipe down to mark it for removal.
Tap Empty Trash when you’re done and enjoy a
lighter, tidier photo library.

For the most part
Gemini is locked into
a vertical portrait
orientation. However
when comparing similar
shots you can tap an
image to maximise it
and then rotate the iPad
to view it in horizontal
landscape orientation.
