Making up
Arrange motifs as shown in schematic. With
RS facing, sew together with whipstitch,
then sew to last row of Main Shawl. Weave
in ends.
Edging
Row 1: With RS facing, join MC at top-left
corner, 1 ch (does not count as a st here
and throughout), dc across bottom edge
of Shawl. Turn.
Row 2: 1 ch, dc across. Fasten off.
Tassels (make 3)
Wrap CC around 12cm piece of cardboard
100 times. Thread a 20cm length of yarn
under loops and tie at top. Cut yarn along
the bottom of cardboard. Wrap and tie
another length of yarn about 1cm down
from initial tie at top. Trim tassels evenly.
Straighten yarn in tassel with steam from
iron, do not touch iron to yarn.
Attach a tassel to each corner of shawl.
