Rnd 22: [1 dc, 1 dc2tog] twice, 16 dc,
[1 dc2tog, 1 dc] twice, 14 dc. 38 sts
Rnd 23: [1 dc2tog, 1 dc, 1 dc2tog, 14 dc]
twice. 34 sts
Use tapestry needle threaded with Arm
tails to close small gaps between Arms
and Body.
Rnd 24: [1 dc2tog, 1 dc, 1 dc2tog, 12 dc]
twice. 30 sts
Change to B. Fasten off C.
Rnd 25: With B, [1 dc2tog, 13 dc] twice.
28 sts
Change to A. Fasten off B.
Rnd 26: With A, [1 dc2tog in BLO, 12 dc in
BLO] twice. 26 sts
Rnd 27: [1 dc2tog, 11 dc] twice. 24 sts
Rnd 28: 2 dc in each st around. 48 sts
Rnds 29-39: Dc around.
Leave working loop on st marker to
cont later.
Bottom of Coat
Holding Body upside down, join C with
larger hook to FLO of Rnd 9 of Body, in
central stitch at front left.
Row 1: 1 ch (does not count as a st here
and throughout), 54 dc. Turn. 54 sts
Row 2: 1 ch, dc across. Turn.
Change to B. Fasten off C.
Rows 3-4: With B, 1 ch, dc across. Turn.
Fasten off. Weave in all ends.Collar
Holding Body upside down, join B with
larger hook in any FLO of Rnd 25 of Body.
Rnd 1: 1 ch (does not count as a st),
28 dc, sl st to beg dc to join.
Fasten off. Weave in all ends.Face
Insert safety eyes between rnds 34-35,
about 2cm apart.
Take a length of F and embroider 2 small
stitches for nose 2 rnds below eyes, about
1cm in length.
Sew Ears onto side of Head, with top of Ear
lining up with top of Eyes.Moustache, Beard & Hair
With smaller hook, create Moustache,
Beard and Hair as follows.
Cut approximately 110 strands of B, about
28cm in length.
For Moustache, insert hook under post of
st below Nose, pull through a folded piece
of yarn to create a loop. Pull both ends of
strand through loop and tighten. Rep five
more times for six strands directly under
Nose, each strand in its own st. Make two
plaits with strands below Nose, secure them
tightly at bottom with same coloured yarn.
For Beard, start from top of Ear and
attach more strands in the same manner
diagonally towards centre of Body until
you reach one row below Moustache. Rep
on other side of Head. Add another row
below first one on both sides of Head and
cont to bottom of face. Add more strands
horizontally to join up first two diagonalsections, then fill in the rest of face below
Moustache. Making sure all strands are
lying flat and straight, trim Beard to desired
length and shape.
For Hair, attach more strands around back
of Head between Ears. Cont adding Hair
until you have four rows of Hair in total. Cut
back of Hair short.Head
Remove st marker from working loop and
cont on Body & Head, stuffing as you go.
Rnd 40: [1 dc2tog, 6 dc] 6 times. 42 sts
Rnd 41: [1 dc2tog, 5 dc] 6 times. 36 sts
Rnd 42: [1 dc2tog, 4 dc] 6 times. 30 sts
Rnd 43: [1 dc2tog, 3 dc] 6 times. 24 sts
Rnd 44: [1 dc2tog, 2 dc] 6 times. 18 sts
Rnd 45: [1 dc2tog, 1 dc] 6 times. 12 sts
Rnd 46: 6 dc2tog. 6 sts
Fasten off, closing hole on top of Head.
