if you build it, you get to stick your name on it.
there’s no question that Brian Vincent Arnold is
responsible for this rig!
the sound-activated ultraviolet lighting system pulses
and changes color to the beat of the music playing on
the system. if this were our rig, “Superfreak” would be
playing nonstop!
the four hard drives slide out for easy access. Keep-
ing them away from other components also makes it
easier to cool the rig.
the front panel’s bays hold a DVD
burner, fan-speed controller, card
reader, floppy drive, power and reset
buttons—and a cigarette lighter.
B
rian Arnold needed a new case.
After studying what was available,
he determined there wasn’t one that
exactly fit his needs. Rather than settle
for anything less than what he wanted,
he headed out to the garage and started
to build the Vashaun Elite.
After six weeks of sketching, mea-
suring, sawing, and sanding, Brian com-
pleted this build. His advice for anyone
considering working with wood: Before
you apply stain, go over every inch of
your case with a magnifying glass to
look for imperfections. Once the stain is
applied, any tiny nicks you missed will
become extremely noticeable.
