Now, trim the felt around your stitching, leaving an
approximately 0.75cm (¼in) border of felt. Try to follow
the shape of the stitching for a neater finish.
2
Carefully trim around the edge of your stitching, leaving
an approximately two-square border. Follow the shape of
the cocktail design wherever possible.
1
Begin by backing your stitching with medium-weight iron-
on interfacing. Follow the instructions on the packet to find
out the correct iron temperature and ironing method to use.
3
Pin and sew your stitching, through the border, onto your
complementary shade of felt. Note that this will be easier if
you leave a generous amount felt to hold onto, as pictured.
6
Thread narrow ribbon through the slits, going in through the
front of the first slit and out through the back of the second.
Repeat all steps for the other cocktails, using the same ribbon.
5
Mark two small lines on the back of the felt border, about
2cm (¾in) down from the top of your felt on either side.
Fold and cut along these lines to make small slits.
