Before we get into the themes of our
December issue I would like to
introduce the world’s newest (and
coolest) superhero - Knit Girl!
By day she’s Purl Jones, a yarn shop
owner and knitter extraordinaire, but
her fabulous knitted cape is in fact a
secret weapon which gives her formidable powers.
Turn to page 52 to ind the pattern for Purl and her
fantastic costume, and don’t miss her essential
everyday outit in next month’s magazine
Elsewhere in this issue, we’re all about keeping
warm, with snuggly garments and fuzzy ibres.
The Wrap Up Warm Collection starts on page 14 and
features ive wearable wonders to help keep out the
chills. As if that’s not enough, on page 31 there’s a
round-up of some of the choicest cosy patterns for
every member of the family – even the four-legged
ones! And following on you’ll ind our pick of the
warmest yarns around for every budget, from
laceweight to chunky.
As ever we’ve got some great projects for little
ones. Starting on page 58 there’s Nicola Valiji’s
adorable sausage-dog scarf, followed by Jane Burns’
cheeky Teddy Cool cardi (p61), and inally, Zoë
Halstead’s smiley star dungarees (p64). All of these
projects are unisex and made from great value yarns
- excellent news at this time of year!
