- formerly the Home Mini – is unlikely
to change the world (well, maybe
slightly, seeing as its fabric is made
out of recycled plastic bottles). But
there are probably just enough
improvements to encourage fans
of Google’s teeny smart speaker to
drop another 50 quid. For a start, the
sound has been improved: Google
claims the Nest Mini offers twice as
much bass as the original Home
Mini, while the speaker will now
dynamically adjust the volume of
Assistant’s responses based on the
level of background noise in your

Huawei Mate 30 Pro and the fact that
it won’t come with any Google apps,
due to US sanctions on the Chinese
company. Well, the Nova 5T was
launched in China during a grace
period in August, so comes with all of
Google’s services intact. It boasts a
6.26-inch, 1080x2340 LCD display; a
Kirin 980 octa-core processor; 128GB
of storage and a 3,750mAh battery.
But the biggest draw must be the
four-camera set-up that includes a
48MP main shooter, a 16MP snapper
with an ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP
macro camera and, finally, a 2MP‘bokeh’ camera. Huawei has said that
it’s hoping to develop a load of new
apps to skirt around Google’s
absence from its forthcoming
handsets, but if you’d rather stick

themselves down as soon as you fold
