James Thomas Lewis, beloved husband,
father, grandfather, brother and friend,
passed away on Sunday, November 10,


  1. Jim, son of Joan Henry and James
    Taylor Lewis, was born on July 2, 1932.
    He was a graduate of Randolph-Macon
    College and earned his J.D. from George
    Washington University. He married his
    loving wife, Charlotte H. Lewis, on Septem-
    ber 13, 1958. They lived many years in
    Northern Virginia, with their three daugh-
    ters, Laura, Linda and Louise. He was a
    devoted grandfather to seven grandchil-
    dren. He is survived by his children, grand-
    children and brother. A celebration of his
    life will be held on Sunday, November 24 at
    the home of his daughter, Linda.

ELIZABETH R. McDONALD "Betty"
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, October
12, 2019 in Evanston, IL at the age of 99 after
several years of declining health.


She was born Elizabeth Steele Reynolds on
January 7, 1920 in Columbia, SC. Having grown
up during the Great Depression she developed
a frugal life style that served her well. The
early passing of her husband, Thomas Edward
McDonald in 1964 left her to raise her two
surviving sons Robert and Thomas as a single
working mother in Bethesda, MD. She worked
for many years at the National Institutes of
Health as an administrative assistant and later
volunteered for many years at Suburban Hos-
pital in Bethesda and various nursing homes.
In addition to her sons, she is survived by six
grandchildren.


A memorial service for immediate family will be
held at the time of her internment at Arlington
National Cemetery where she will be re-united
with her husband Thomas. Donations to the
Basser Center for BRCA basser.org will be
welcomed in lieu of flowers or other tributes.

Liam Miles, age 61, passed away suddenly on
Friday, November 8, 2019. Born in Jacksonville,
Florida to John D. and Lola K. Miles, Lee, as
he was known to all, grew up in Kensington,
Maryland. He was a Master Plumber and Gas
Fitter and an avid golfer.
Lee is survived by his wife, Cathy, daughter
Rachel, sisters Delight Arnold and Herald Speis-
er, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David
and Rachel Touster, niece Megan Arnold, five

Dr. Marjay D Anderson, retired Howard Uni-
versity scientist, educator and academician,
passed away Sunday, November 10, 2019. A
native of Kilgore, Texas, Dr. Anderson resided
in Washington, DC for 53 years. She earned
a Bachelor of Science degree from Prairie
View A&M University with a major in Biology;
Master’s Degree in Microbiology and Doctor
of Philosophy Degree in Zoology from Howard
University. Her professional career at Howard
University spanned 51 years with over 25
years as Chair of the Comprehensive Sciences
Department, College of Arts and Sciences.As a
life member in Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Dr.
Anderson held elected offices at local,regional,
and national levels. She was a member of
Mattie R. Griffin Chapter No 16, Order of the
Eastern Star; Mecca Court No 2, Daughters of
Isis-AEONMS; and Thornton A. Jackson Court
#3, Heriones of Jericho. She is survived by two
brothers, Daniel S. Anderson (Barbara), and
Jay Dee Anderson (Ora Jean); a niece, Danielle
Anderson; a nephew, Jayson K. Anderson,
the Faber family and many friends. A funeral

Of McLean, VA, passed away peacefully on
Tuesday, November 5, 2019 while at home
with her loving husband Bill nearby. The
cause was cancer which she bravely and
courageously battled for almost two years.
She was born on November 18, 1945 in
New York City and attended Syossett High
School on Long Island. She is survived by
her devoted husband Bill and her sister
Lorretta and brother-in-law Jim who reside
in Miami, FL and many close friends. She
was employed by Edison Electric Institute
(EEI) for 33 years in both New York City
and Washington, DC when she retired.
Trish worked in the administration area,
conducted member relations and planned
meetings.Trish was the portrait of a healthy
lifestyle and was very dedicated to her daily
physical fitness routine. She never smoked
and always maintained a healthful diet.
She was always vigorous, full of energy,
and had a big personality. Visitation and
a brief prayer ceremony will be held on
Friday, November 15 at Money and King
Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave., Vienna,
VA from 4 to 6 p.m. Immediately following
the visitation and prayer ceremony, Trish’s
husband invites family, friends, former col-
leagues, and neighbors to a buffet recep-
tion at Maggiano’s Restaurant located at
the Tyson’s Galleria Mall on International
Drive, McLean, VA from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

together” was her way of life.
She was like a rainbow that colored the
world. Her strength and zest for life touched
the lives of everyone who knew her. She
had a deep interest in healthy eating and
living and a desire to nurture and heal those
around her. Her wit and sense of humor will
be remembered as her best attribute of all.
She will remain in our hearts forever and will
always be with us.

PATRICIA JUNE REINA (Age 73)
Passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019
in Coral Springs, FL. Born in Kingston, NY on
June 12, 1946, she was a daughter of the late
Manuel Reina and Ida Mae Townsend Reina.
Born in Kingston, NY, the family moved to
Miami, FL when she was eight where she
spent her childhood. She graduated from
Miami Edison High School in 1964, where she
was known as Patty. Following high school,
she lived in New York City, Falls Church,
VA, Atlanta, GA, Bethesda, MD and Del Ray
Beach, FL and was known as “P.J.” during
her adult life. She was full of life and
commanded attention by those who knew
and loved her. Living in NYC as after high
school,she had a successful modeling career
and worked as an executive assistant. Her
career also included radio sales executive
and real estate agent. She moved to Atlanta,
along with her two daughters, after her
divorce to be near her sister.
Laughter was her way of life and is revealed
in most of her photographs. She remem-
bered her mother saying “Laughter is the
best medicine” and she took heed. She loved

Carolyn Renee Colbert was born on June 12,
1948 in Washington, DC and departed her
earthly home on November 4, 2019. She was

earned an AA at the College of Alameda.
She enlisted in the United States Army and
earned the National Defense Service Medal.
