For a Scandinavian-

inspired scene on your

sideboard or mantel, turn

sprigs into little birch

“trees.” Using a bit size

close to the stem width,

drill holes 1/2 inch or so

deep into birch stumps

(available at crafts stores).

Insert clippings. If the holes

turn out to be too wide,

apply a dab of glue

around the stem end to

secure it in the hole.
