A change to “Dancing With the Stars”elimination rules meant to

value skill over popularity is the subject of widespread complaints

spray-tanned hide every week.zSpicer, whose casting on “Danc-

ing” drew strong opposition from those who denounced his less-

than-truthful performance as White House press secretary, sur-

vives despite outside criticismof his dancing and the lowest scores

from the judges in each of the last four weeks of ABC’s dance com-

petition (Mondays, 8 EST/PST). Huge fan support boosted by his

No. 1 fan (and former boss) President Donald Trump sustains him.

“Dancing” changed the elimination
process this season, the show’s 28th,
to prevent the kind of popularity-con-
test outcome that many contend led to
last fall’s victory by country-radio host
Bobby Bones, a less-than-stellar hoof-
er with his own strong public follow-
ing.
For years, weeklyeliminations have
resulted from some combination of
scores by judges Len Goodman, Carrie
Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli and fan
votes, most recently online or via text.
Most reality competitions turn either
on judges’ decisions or viewer votes,

It’s the kind of loss that would crip-
ple anyone, but Dion, 51, has handled
tragedy with her usual grace and re-
lentless work ethic: releasing French-
language album “Encore un soir” in
late summer 2016, playing shows in
Las Vegas and across North America
and even going viral with cheeky ap-
pearances in “Deadpool 2“ and “Car-
pool Karaoke.”
Now she’s back with “Courage,” her
first English-language album in six
years, which finds her dipping into a
variety of genres as she teams up with
a slew of hit songwriters and pro-
ducers.
Clocking in at roughly 70 minutes
on the album’s 20-song deluxe ver-
sion, “Courage” can at times feel over-
stuffed and impersonal, as she tries on
squalling EDM bangers (“Flying on My
Own”) and middle-finger-waving em-
powerment pop (the Sia-written “Ly-

Celine Dion has gifted us some of
the most iconic power ballads of the
past two decades, singing about un-
stoppable love on chart-toppers “It’s
All Coming Back to Me Now,” “Because
You Loved Me” and “My Heart Will Go
On.”
But her stories of everlasting ro-
mance took on heartbreaking new
meaning in January 2016, when Dion’s
husband, René Angélil, died after a
years-long battle with throat cancer.
She was dealt another blow just two
days later with the death of her older
brother, Daniel Dion, also from cancer.

The royal couples are reunited! Prince William and
Prince Harry, and their respective wives, Duchess
Kate of Cambridge and Duchess Meghan of Sussex,
appeared together over the weekend for the first
time in months for Remembrance observations. On
Sunday, the royal family gathered for the annual
Remembrance Day Service at The Cenotaph in Lon-
don. Queen Elizabeth II, who stood next to Kate on a
balcony, was overcome with emotion and wiped
tears from her eyes during the ceremony to com-
memorate those who have lost their lives in con-
flicts. Meghan appeared on a different balcony,
channeling Princess Diana in a wide brim black hat
and black overcoat. Prince William and Prince Harry
participated by laying wreaths.
