Baby2Baby
Gala
Culver City, Nov. 9
$4.7M Baby Bump
Katy Perry (2), Gwyneth
Paltrow (1), Kate
Hudson (2) and Jennifer
Garner were among
the stars at the annual
Baby2Baby gala, which
celebrated Chrissy
Te i g e n (2) with the Giving
Tr e e Aw a r d. B a b y 2 B a b y,
led by co-presidents Kelly
Sawyer Patricof (2) and
Norah Weinstein (2), is
an L.A.-based foundation
that provides everything
from school supplies to
diapers to families living
below the poverty line.
The dinner at the food-
focused event was curated
by restaurateurs Jon
Shook and Vinny Dotolo,
while Nicole Richie and
Ali Wong led a live auction
that saw major donations
fly in from A-list guests,
including Lionsgate’s Jon
Feltheimer and Netflix’s
Scott Stuber. In total,
the gala raised more than
$4.7 million to support
the organization. “They’re
providing every child
in Los Angeles with a
backpack, and that sounds
like not a big thing, but
what you don’t under-
stand is the effect of not
having a backpack for a
child — that they don’t go
to school because their
stuff is in a garbage bag
and they’re too ashamed,”
Rachel Zoe told THR.
Following the dinner and
awards, Paula Abdul got
the starry crowd on their
feet with a medley of
her hits. — ALEX CRAMER
Frozen Frenzy
Disney’s Oscar-winning
2013 hit Frozen is back
with new songs and deeper
themes, including “a grief
storyline that I don’t know
any Disney movie has
explored,” actor Jonathan
Groff (8) told THR. At
the film’s winter-themed
Dolby Theatre premiere,
original castmembers
Kristen Bell (6), Idina
Menzel (6), Josh Gad (8)
and Groff mingled with
new additions Sterling K.
Brown (7), Evan Rachel
Wood (8) and Jason
Ritter (9). While Anna and
Elsa tackle new adventures
in the sequel, the message
remains the same, Brown
told THR, with “the truth
of women being able to
save themselves and not
needing any male char-
acter to come through for
them.” — KIRSTEN CHUBA
