In spite of JMW Turner’s fondness for Scotland’s
wild scenery until this year the prize named for
the great Romanticist had never in its 31-year
history been held north of the border. No won-
der then that the Scots are celebrating Glasgow
hosting 2015’s award with a whole busload of art



  • literally. Until 5 December THE TRAVELLING GAL-
    LERY which has been on the road since August con-
    tinues its country-wide tour showcasing the work of
    previous Scottish winners and emerging artists. In Nov-
    em ber it will journey from North Ayrshire to Dumfries and
    Galloway West Lothian and Stirling before finally
    putting on the brakes in Glasgow where the win-
    ner of the Turner Prize will be announced at Tram-
