BETTER LATE

THAN NEVER

Of course, the longer
you’ve adopted an
active lifestyle for
your health the better,
but it’s never too late
to start. A new study
from University of
Birmingham found
that older people who
are new to exercise
programs have the
same ability to build
muscle as trained
athletes of a
similar age!

Did you know...
During the Second World War, Canada had
a secret school for spies operating near
Whitby, Ontario. James Bond creator Ian
Fleming was an alleged student of Camp
X, but many of the facility’s unsung heroes
are the women of the Canadian Women’s
Army Corps who served there. In between
mundane cooking and cleaning tasks,
these trailblazers sent communications
and decoded encrypted messages. Move
over Daniel Craig, the next 007 is
a Canadian woman!

The textured wallpaper by Wall You Need Is Love (WYNIL) is
so lifelike you’ll be doing a double take. Distressed barn board,
painted brick, poured concrete and matte marble are among
some of the options printed in hyper HD to give your bare walls
some style cred. The Montreal-based brand does more than
industrial-modern textures, as well: Check out the nature-
inspired prints by Canadian and international artists.
WYNIL Texture Collection Wallpaper, $99 per 26" x 9", $104, wynil.com.

Tahini [tah-HEE-nee] is sesame paste
made from, you guessed it, ground ses-
ame seeds. It’s not as sweet as other nut
and seed butters and it has a thicker or
more granular texture. A pantry staple in
Mediterranean and Middle Eastern kitch-
ens, the ingredient is versatile enough to
be used every day in sauces, dips and des-
serts alike. Stir into hummus for stronger
nutty flavour or keep it simple by spread-
ing it on toast with a drizzle of honey.
