If you’re looking to get
your money’s worth from
PS Now then step up to
the challenge offered by
this old-school RPG. Created by
genre legend Obsidian, this is a
role-player that is wonderfully
old-fashioned in its setting and
gameplay but features a very
modern narrative style, combat
system, and one of the best
fantasy worlds we’ve experienced
on PS4. This PS Now version is the
Complete Edition, which includes all
of the PC improvements and DLC.

While not the best entry
in the Killzone series –
that argument is
between numbers two
and three – as a PlayStation 4
offering on PS Now it deserves
to pip its cousins in this list. The
game looks beautiful, and the
Decima engine brings to life
Guerrilla’s sci-fi world. The
addition of the OWL drone and
touch pad control adds another
layer of intrigue to this PlayStation
4 launch title. Behind the visuals
and innovative controls is a solid
first-person shooter, made better
by an excellent multiplayer that’s
still popular even now.

Who hasn’t leaned back
in their chair and
imagined being able to
walk on the walls as if
they were the floor – and kick
monsters to death with their
strong legs? That simple
gravity-bending conceit is put into
practice wonderfully in Gravity
Rush 2, where you can shift the
rules of gravity that govern your
character to zip across a city as
you complete missions. Added to
this sequel is the ability to both
lessen and weaken the strength of
gravity, so you can become lighter
to jump higher, or heavier to give
your attacks more weight.

MacGrath decides to
chill Big Easy-style as
he ventures down to
New Marais in a sequel
that was more accomplished in
every way than its still-heroic
predecessor. Thanks to a
compelling southern city and
a better-told story, InFamous 2
remains one of the finer
open-worlds to grace PS3. Cole’s
parkour system is as pleasing as
ever, while missions are also much
improved on its predecessor and
thankfully don’t involve spending
all your time in dingy sewers
(naughty, InFamous 1). Props to
that ending, too.

Genuinely uncomfortable
at times, Team Silent
used the famous fog not
to mask hardware
limitations but to create an
atmospheric experience that
perfectly complemented Akira
Yamaoka’s timeless haunting
score. From the opening shot to
the final twist, few games are as
memorable. And, of course:
Pyramid Head! Under normal
circumstances this classic
creeper would be higher in the list,
but PS Now’s entry is the so-so
version from the PS3’s HD
Collection. Even despite an iffy
remaster, however, the game still
shines. And terrifies.

Judging Gearbox’s
foul-mouthed, stat-
obsessed shooter as a
solo experience is
meaningless. Got one pad and no
web connection? You’ll find a
perfectly agreeable shooter here.
Also, congratulations on being the
only person ever to play Blands
this way. As a co-op blaster, it was
peerless until Blands 2 came out,
giving you miles of wasteland to
explore with your mates and scour
for guns with big numbers and silly
names. Funny, original, and
pioneering in its effortless
co-operative functionality.

This hack ‘n’ slash series
is best known for its
bloody visuals as ninja
warrior Ryu is able to
sever his enemies’ arms and legs,
slowing them down allowing for a
gruesome fatal attack. In this
sequel injured foes will launch
suicide attacks rather than bleed
out. There’s a soft RPG side to the
action, with Ryu collecting
weapons and items to add abilities
and combo strings to his arsenal.
On PS Now we get the remastered
Sigma edition, which includes
tweaks to the graphics, and adds
new bosses. It also includes three
more playable characters,
including Dead Or Alive’s Ayane.

The first of two showings
for the spacefaring duo,
Ratchet & Clank’s fifth
full-scale yarn remains
one of the most creative
platformers in PlayStation history.
No game in the Insomniac portfolio
showcases the abundant creativity
of the Californian studio better
than ACIT. The combat is tighter,
the weapons are crazier, Crank
has his own fun sections and as
for the open-space dogfighting
hubs – well, we could fly ol’
Aphelion around for years and
never get bored of her.
