Thanks to the way nature’s been steadily reclaiming the
world since most of humanity was eradicated, even in
former urban areas there’s plenty of long grass which
can hide Ellie from view as you sneak around enemy patrols.Holdingeallows Ellie to go prone to use patches
of shorter grass or hideaways to her advantage,
making the most of even limited cover. You can also
still use weapons, like bows, while lying flat on the ground.Even when you’ve been spotted you can lose enemies,
allowing you to sneakily double back and take them
by surprise (often violently). You’ll find your best
tactic is to stay on the move – a sort of urban guerilla warfare.Listen mode makes use of Ellie’s excellent hearing to
highlight enemies so you can avoid them getting the
drop on you – here she’s pinpointed a person and their
dog. But things get chaotic quickly when you’re spotted.Don’t rest easy when you’re out of the sight of fellow
humans. The game is filled with hunting dogs that
can sniff you out if you’re not being careful, leading
enemies to track you down. We don’t enjoy killing the dogs...Ducking out of rooms, moving through windows,
crawling through grass: the best way to hit enemies
is from an unexpected location. Here we’re using our
bow to take one down silently from a vantage point on a roof.Ellie is a one-woman army and the queen of stealth. Here’s how she takes on the world...
