oil on panel, 24x24“‘Where Is the Moon?’ is based on a Chinese story of monkeys
reaching for the moon, not realizing they’re grasping for
a reflection of the moon in a lake. In my painted version, one of
the monkeys notices a second “moon” with a smiley face, lying
on the ground. The Chinese tale inspired me to be realistic and
work, step by step, toward my goal of becoming an artist rather
than waste my time reaching for a ‘fake moon.’”Still Life/Interior
