s it just me, or are
people now carry-
ing around those
navy Rent the Run-
way return bags like they’re
actual accessories? And
it’s not just RTR that’s every-
where. Fashion rental ser-
vices are clogging up my
feeds, offering free trials,
discounts, and exclusive
labels, and...let’s just say,
sorting through them is a
liiittle bit overwhelming.
Like, some sites want you to
create an account before
you even browse the selec-
tion (no thank you?), while
others offer only one brand
(hard pass, it’s called vari-
e t y, l o o k it u p).
Still, since the general
idea is clearly genius, I
vo l u n t e e re d t o g o d ow n a n
internet black hole and
test-drive each one. Yeah,
it’s hard work, but some-
body’s gotta wear sequins
on a Monday.

BEST FOR SPECIAL
OCCASIONS
Armarium
WHAT IT COSTS: $150 to
$700+ per item
RENTAL PERIOD: four days
NOTABLE DESIGNERS: Erdem,
Altuzarra, Marc Jacobs
Listen up if you fancy: This
site carries only luxury
designers, which, yes, $$$.
But it’s kinda worth it to feel
like you’re having a true red-
carpet moment. Anyone
whose life goal is to end up
in a “ W h o wo re i t b e t t e r? ”
side-by-side with Meghan
Markle will drool over the
puff-sleeve Rodarte gowns
and Missoni minidresses.
Armarium can also hook you
up with a legit celeb stylist
for a phone consult. (Sugges-
tion: Pour a glass of bubbly
while you take the call.)
